Day 11: Accelerated Math Homework and Linear Equations

On August 20th, students are reminded to turn in homework and open to page 25. If homework is incomplete, sign the non-homework binder. The Question of the Day involves writing a linear equation from a job scenario involving Myra's hiring bonus and hourly wage. This problem will help illustrate the concepts of slope and y-intercept. Tonight's homework is on pages 29-30 (questions 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8). Keep working on the task packet for further review. Expect questions to be answered in class tomorrow.

She received a hiring bonus of $250, and she will be payed $40/hour. Write the linear equation that models this problem. What is the slope? What is the y-intercept? • Tonight’s Homework: page 29-30 (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8) Work on the task packet – I’ll answer questions tomorrow.
