  1. The Prophet Adam (as) Module 1 – Circle 16

  2. What was the first thing that Allah created? "The first thing which Allah created was the pen. Then, He said to it: Write. It asked: My Lord, what should I write? He said: Write the proportions of all things up until the Hour." [Ahmad, Tirmidhi] Abdullah-ibn-Amr (R.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SWT) said: "Allah had written down the measures of creations 50,000 years before He created the heavens and the earth. [Muslim] Module 1 – Circle 16

  3. What kind of mud was Adam (as) created from? “And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: ‘I am going to create a human (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.  So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him.” (Quran 38:71-72) Module 1 – Circle 16

  4. On who’s image was Adam (as) created? Abu Hurayrah narrated "If any of you strikes (another), let them avoid the face, for Allah created Adam in His image." (Muslim) “There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.” (42: 11) “And there is none co-equal or comparable to Him.”(112: 4) Module 1 – Circle 16

  5. What is the ingredient which brings humans to life? “we created you from earth and you will return to earth and we will resurrect you from the earth” (Taha: 55). Module 1 – Circle 16

  6. What was the first thing Adam (as) did and said when his soul entered his body? Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger said: “When Allah swt created Adam (as) and blew into him the spirit, he sneezed and said ‘Alhamdulillah’ (All-Praise is due to Allah). Thus, he praised Allah with His permission. And, so, his Lord said to him ‘Yaharmakullah’ (may Allah have mercy on you), O Adam, go to those angels (to the angels among them who are seated) and say: ‘As-Salamu Alaikum (peace be upon you).’ They responded: ‘As-salamu Alaika wa Rahmatu-l-lahi ( Peace and Allah’s Mercy be upon you). Then he returned to his Lord who said, ‘This is your salutation and the salutation of your children to each other.’ [Tirmidhi] Module 1 – Circle 16

  7. What was Adam (as) taught? “He taught Adam all the names of everything “ (2:31) “tell me the name of these if you are truthful” They said: "Glory to Thee, of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom." (2:31-32). “oh Adam tell them these names” when he told them the names, Allah told the angels “didn’t I tell you that I know the knowledge of the unseen in the heavens and the earth and what you reveal and conceal”. (2:33) Module 1 – Circle 16

  8. Who was the wife of Adam (as)? Adam (as) opened his eyes and looked into the beautiful face of a woman gazing down at him.  Adam (as) was surprised and asked the woman why she had been created.  She revealed that she was to ease his loneliness and bring tranquillity to him.  The Angels questioned Adam (as). They knew that Adam possessed knowledge of things they did not know about and the knowledge mankind would need to occupy the earth. They said ‘who is this?’  and Adam (as) replied ‘this is Hawa’. Module 1 – Circle 16

  9. What were Adam (as) and Hawa (as) forbidden to do in paradise? Adam (as) and Hawa (as) were living in jannah and they were living with everything and were allowed all access to jannah except one tree. “oh Adam live with your mate in jannah eat from it whatever you want, except from this one tree” (2:35). Hence Adam and Hawa (as) lived in peace and enjoyed the bounties of jannah. Module 1 – Circle 16

  10. Who caused Adam (as) and Hawa (as) to disobey the command of Allah? Satan was there in the Paradise of Adam and Eve and his vow was to misguide and deceive them and their descendents.  Satan said: “…surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path.  Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left…” (Quran 7:16-17)   Module 1 – Circle 16

  11. How could a prophet of Allah commit such an act? Adam (as) knew that iblis was his enemy, but had not experienced his tactics. We know what happened to Adam (as) and we know what iblis does and we now understand how he attacks people with his tricks, yet we still commit the same mistake. Module 1 – Circle 16

  12. Where did Allah send Adam (as) and Hawa (as)? “Get you down (upon the earth), all of you together, from Paradise, some of you are an enemy to some others.  Then, if there comes to you guidance from Me, whoever follows My Guidance shall neither go astray, nor fall into distress and misery.” (Quran 20:123) Module 1 – Circle 16

  13. Did Hawa (as) tempt Adam (as) to disobey his command? It is at this point that the Jewish and Christian traditions differ greatly from Islam.  At no point do the words of Allah in the Quran, or the Hadiths and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) indicate that Satan came to Adam and Eve in the form of a snake or serpent. Module 1 – Circle 16

  14. Did Allah forgive Adam (as) and Hawa (as)? Adam (as) received words from Allah “Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray. Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him with forgiveness and gave him guidance.” (Quran 20:121-122) Module 1 – Circle 16

  15. What is the dua that Adam (as) asked Allah? “our lord we have wronged ourselves if you forgive us not and bestow upon us your mercy we will be of the losers” Q7:23 Module 1 – Circle 16

  16. What day did Adam (as) and Hawa (as) descend to earth? “The best of days on which the sun has risen is Friday.  One this day Adam was created, and on this day he was descended to earth.” (Bukhari) Module 1 – Circle 16

  17. For how many years did Adam (as) live for? Adam (as) was supposed to live for 1000 years but only lived for 960 years. In the Sunan al-Tirmidhi narrated by Abu Hurairah RA Adam when he was created, Allah stroked his back and all the descendants of Adam fell down from his back and allah put some light between there eyes, Adam(as) said who are they and Allah said these are your descendants and he looked at them and he saw a bright shinning light and he liked it and he asked Allah who is this. Allah replied this is one of your descendants who will come at the end of time and his name is Dawud (as). Adam said what his age is, Allah said 60years old. Adam as said oh Allah give him 40 years from my life. It was prescribed and sealed. Module 1 – Circle 16

  18. Why are humans forgetful? This happened early on in his life and Adam (as) was supposed to live for 1000 years and once he was living on earth and when he reached 960 the angel of death came to Adam (as) and asked “are you ready to die?” Adam (as) said I still have another 40 years I was promised a life of 1000 years. The angel of death said “did you not give 40 years to Dawud (as)?” Adam (as) denied this. Adam(as) denied and so the children of Adam (as) deny. Adam(as) forgot and so his children will forget and Adam(as) made a mistake so the children of Adam (as) will also make mistakes. Module 1 – Circle 16
