  5. VOCATIONAL THERAPY

  6. A variety of methods and settings are used to help patients regain old skills or develop new ones. These include: • Sheltered workshops • Job clubs • Part-time transitional employment

  7. Enabling patients to become employed is both a means toward, and sign of recovery. • Many schizophrenia patients are capable of performing high-quality work inspite of their illness. • Others may exhibit exceptional skills or even brilliance in a limited field as a result of some idiosyncratic aspect of their disorder.
