  2. County Code/Name & State Code • There are several needs for this data. A few being: • Residence of first-time freshmen for IPEDS • Factbook • Reports to the legislature • Reports to other HEC’s regarding reciprocity

County Code/Name & State Code • PS has no mechanism to freeze the county code/name and state code at time of term activation as we have done in the past with legacy system. • Prior to January we were freezing the admit term/type at term activation in a separate file called SR_ADMT_TERM_TYP_ST • We have added additional logic and are now freezing county code/name and state code at time of term activation

County Code/Name & State Code -Logic • Multi-pass effort. • foreign undergrads (derived ethnic code = 6) - leave county name/code and state blank • select county code and state from most recent legacy census record, if there is one • if the info from the census record is blank or there is no match to legacy census records, select county code and state from DEMOFILE (IR_LGCY_DTA_ST ) • match county code to a county code table (PSE_CNTY_CD_V) to retrieve the county name.

County Code/Name & State Code -Logic • if there is no match against legacy census or DEOMFILE, select county name and state from the ADHM address in PS • when there is a county code of 93 (from legacy - interface could not determine county code) or county of 00 and state of IN select county name and state from ADHM address • Match the county name to the county code table (PSE_CNTY_CD_V) to retrieve the county code. • We have gone to great lengths to obtain the county code/name and state code, but in a few instances this logic does fall short.

  6. County Code/Name & State Code -File Fixes • IR_CEN_TRM_SNPSHT_GT for 4048 and 4052 has been updated • By the end of January SR_STU_TERM_* for 4048 and 4052 will be updated

  7. County Code/Name & State Code – Audit • USSS is running an audit to catch incorrect county names for ADHM Indiana addresses for admitted students
