A fuel analysis was conducted on both ATV 1 and ATV 2, as well as the refuelling station, following reports of performance issues. The investigation revealed evidence of contamination in the fuel samples, with ATV 1 exhibiting a slightly milky blue coloration and rust particles, while ATV 2 had clearer yellow fuel with bubbles, also containing rust and dirt. These findings suggest that the contamination may be linked to the recent operational problems. Directions from the Engineering Team (ET) on further actions are requested.

MDRS ATV Fuel Contamination • As requested by ET, the fuel in both ATV 1 and ATV 2 was sampled, as was the fuel in the Refuelling Station. • As shown in the attached slides, there is evidence of contamination, which may be the source of yesterdays problems. • Request ET direction on actions to be taken.
