  1. INTRODUCTION TO AUXDATA #10 Useful Reports Election Eligibility

  2. PDF Reader In order to view AUXDATA reports, you must have a pdf reader program installed on your computer. Adobe’s Acrobat Reader is the most popular program, and its free. There are many other free programs available as well. To get the latest release of Adobe Acrobat Reader, visit www.adobe.com Click on the Adobe Reader download link. Click to download For security reasons, it is important to keep these programs up-to-date with the latest releases.

  3. PDF Reader As with any program you download from the internet, check the page to see if any other software is selected to download and install with your program. In this case, you might want to uncheck the box for McAfee Security Scan Plus software. Click the “Download Now” button to start the download and installation, then follow the on screen instructions. Uncheck Click “Download Now”

  4. If you have not completed all the steps in the presentation “Introduction to AUXDATA #1 – How to access AUXDATA”, go back and complete the steps. Otherwise, continue with this presentation.

  5. AUXDATA Main Menu There is a simple report that can be run to find out which members are eligible or ineligible to run for elected office. Click on the “Reports” button to access this report. Click Reports

  6. AUXDATA Reports Click the “Election Eligibility” tab to access. Click to Access

  7. Election Eligibility Report This report can be run for an individual or a unit. To find out who is eligible to run for office, select the Unit Number. Then select the office. Select Office Select Unit Number Click Submit Click “Submit” To get this report for Division or District officers, you must have AUXDATA access for that level, eg: SO-IS for Division Level Offices.

  8. Election Eligibility Report This report shows the members who are currently eligible to run for the selected office.

  9. Election Eligibility Report This report can be run for an individual or a unit. To find out why members are NOT eligible to run for office, select the Unit Number. Then select the office. Select Office Select Unit Number Click Details Then click “Details” To get this report for Division or District officers, you must have AUXDATA access for that level, eg: SO-IS for Division Level Offices.

  10. Election Eligibility Report This report shows the members who are currently NOT eligible to run for the selected office, and the first reason found for ineligibility. This report lists the first reason AUXDATA finds for a member to be ineligible. There may be more reasons, so if a member completes the task required by this listing, re-run the report to ensure there are not additional requirements that need to be met.

  11. Reports – Special Instructions VERY IMPORTANT!! If you are experiencing problems with the reports loading properly, pop-up blockers must either be turned off or set to allow pop-ups from the AUXDATA site. The most common problem encountered is the Google Toolbar. In addition to the Internet Explorer pop-up blocker being turned off, the Google Toolbar pop-up blocker must be disabled or set to allow pop-ups from the AUXDATA website.

  12. Reports – Special Instructions The reports will load in a browser window. If you do not see the report, check the window for your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari), by clicking on the appropriate tab to bring the browser window to the front. If the report still is not showing, follow the instructions in the following slides regarding pop-up blockers.

  13. Pop-Up Blocker–Internet Explorer To turn off Pop-up blockers in Internet Explorer: • Click on the “Tools” Pull down menu Hover your mouse over “Pop-up Blocker” Click “Turn Off” Click “Tools” Click “Turn Off Pop-up Blocker”

  14. Pop-Up Blocker–Google Tool Bar The Pop-Up Blocker on the Google Toolbar is one of the most common problems for reports in AUXDATA. When the Google Tool Bar blocks a page, you will see the “no” symbol, click the down facing arrow to the right of this symbol Click “Always Allow” Click the down facing arrow In the window, select “Always allow pop-ups from auxdata.uscg.gov

  15. Pop-Up Blocker – Firefox When blocking a pop-up, Firefox displays an information bar at the top of the window. When you click on the “Options” button on the information bar, a menu is displayed with the following choices: • Allow/Block pop-ups for this site • Edit Pop-up Blocker Options • Don’t show this message when pop-ups are blocked • (show the blocked pop-up) • Allow/Block pop-ups for this site Click “Options” Selecting “Allow pop-ups for this site”, will configure Firefox to allow the reports to load.
