Impact of Weight Loss and Fish Oil on Cytokine Expression Profiles in Obese Men

Supplemental Figure 2 illustrates the effects of moderate weight loss (WL) and fish oil (FO) supplementation on cytokine expression profiles in the plasma of fasted moderately obese men. Through analysis via a cytokine protein antibody array, the percent changes in expression at the conclusion of the FO (gray) and WL (black) periods, as compared to the control period (CO), are presented. The data encompass various immune chemokines, growth factors, and other cytokines, highlighting their roles in immune stimulation and suppression.
