Data Communications Implementation Team (DCIT) Ground Test Facility– Gregg Anderson
Would a ground test facility be economically beneficial A Ground test facility could provide the following benefits: • A representative ground test facility in accordance with AC 20-140A, necessary for regulatory validation compliance. • An avionics engineering development test tool for interoperability/functionality. • A representative ATC Data Comm end system that would potentially minimize regulatory oversight by allowing a ground-to-ground connection between avionics and ATSU. This may afford a reduction in aircraft cert office imposed lab, ground and flight testing in support of type design and flight standards inspector operational approvals. • Ability to create an FAA monitoring and reporting system allowing for early identification of deficiency reports that may impact our ground and airborne standards (i.e. SC214/WG78).
