High School Expectations Mr. Ebert, Assistant Principal • “Seek What IS Above” • Those who get involved the most are the most successful at our school. There are 22 sports and more than 15 clubs/organizations to become involved with.

Program of Studies Requirements For Graduation
Language Arts 4 Credits You will be taking English every year. 9: English 9 or English 9 Honors
Mathematics • 4 Credits Total • 9: Integrated Math I, Algebra I, Geometry or Geometry Honors
Science • 3 Credits Total • 9: Life Science, Biology or Biology Honors
Social Studies • 3 Credits Total • 9: World History or Honors World History • 10: American History or AP • 12: Government and Economics or AP Government (11) and Economics (12)
Health/P.E. • 1 Credit Total • P.E. 9 – ¼ Credit • P.E. 10 – ¼ Credit • Health 10 – ½ Credit
Business/Tech, Foreign Language or Fine Arts 1 Credit Total • Fine Arts Classes – Art, Band, Choir, & Dramatics • Foreign Language Classes – French, Spanish & Mandarin Chinese • Business/Technology Classes – Computer, & General Business • Industrial Arts Classes - Graphic Tech, Manufacturing, etc.
Grade Promotion • 10th grade students - 5.75 credits • 11th grade students - 11 credits • 12th grade students - 16.5 credits 24 credits =
Total Credits for Graduation… • Must also pass all 5 parts of the Ohio Graduation Test 24
College Prep Meet all requirements for graduation and complete… …At least 2 units of 1 Foreign Language. …At least 1 unit of Fine Arts.
Ohio Honors Diploma Must meet all but one of the following requirements: • 4 units of: English, Math, Science, Social Studies • 3 units of one Foreign Language or 2 of two • One unit of Fine Arts – Art, Drama, and Music • Maintain a 3.5 GPA • Score a 27 on the ACT or 1210 on the SAT (Critical Reading and Math only)
Class Recommendations Honors & AP Courses Your current 8th grade teachers will help you decide whether to enroll in Regular or Honors classes.
Schedule Changes • Choose classes wisely. • Schedules are not changed often. They will only be changed for certain reasons: misplaced academically, etc.
Planning for the Future • We recommend students to make a 4 year plan of courses that they would like to take throughout high school. • Pay particular attention to pre-requisites required for classes.

Enter Course Selection Online at esispa.leeca.org Your student’s user name and password are located on the label on the course selection sheet. Select at least 6 credits. Counselor will review that appropriate classes are chosen.

Check each course under the “Add” column and then “Add Checked Courses”
A Confirmation screen will appear notifying you that you have scheduled.

PSEO Opportunities • PSEO Meeting Wednesday, February 17 in the PAC at the high school at 7:00 PM. • Learn how to earn high school and college credit at the same time! • All students must submit a letter of intent to ALHS Guidance by March 31, 2010. • All students must apply to the college by June 1, 2010.
