  2. Introduction • Background • CDP implemented ezEMRx in seven counties five years ago • An EMR workgroup was formed and ezEMRx limitations were identified • The limitations led to the decision to expand requirements • The EMR workgroup redefined the scope of LDH EMR functionality • CDP designed and is developing an EMR that is based on these needs

  3. Key EMR Features • Designed for Local Public Health users • Based on requirements, PHPR, forms used by clinics, and other information provided by the work group • Integrated with CDP Portal • Extensive security and access control • Certified to meet Office of National Coordinator (ONC) criteria for Electronic Health Records

  4. Additional Features • Provides an encounter list to manage patients that are in the clinic for services • Users have access to patients in the list based upon user credentials and controls on the user account • Provides users with the ability to customize standard notes • A service assistant guides the user step by step through a service based on service type, patient age, and gender

  5. EMR Status • Testing Version 3.5 • Developing next version to be used for pilot • Planning for pilot • Integrating with CDP portal • Coordinating with DPH • Preparing for ONC certification
