  3. Initial unemployment claims are as high as in the ‘89-91 recession.

  4. The state economy will bottom out at the end of this year or early next.

  5. More severe than the last recession, but not as bad as the 89-91 recession.

  6. Employment will hit bottom in mid 2010.

  7. Painful, but not as bad as the ‘89-91 recession.

  8. Employment will be back to its pre-recession level at the end of 2013.

  9. Another severe revenue crisis.

  10. A deepening structural deficit in Massachusetts

  11. Health spending is growing relentlessly.

  12. Increases in health spending will constrain spending on non-health goods and services.
