  1. 5 Important Tips For Your Roof’s Maintenance

  2. Clean your Gutters   • Gutter cleaning season takes place in the fall and spring. You’ll want to clean your gutters after the fall leaves fall, or just when new leaves bloom in the spring. Leaves usually collect in loads in your gutters right after the autumn season. Collected leaves may clog your gutters, diverting water into your home or causing backups. • While you’re cleaning your gutters of excess debris, leaves, etc. take the opportunity to multitask, and check your roof out for damage and leaks.

  3. Focus on Specific Areas • Firstly, focus on anything that protrudes from the roof. These are the areas that are potentially most troublesome as they can divert water into your home’s interiors. You’ll want to pay attention to improperly sealed openings, cracks, and creases caused by chimneys, vents, skylights, and satellites.

  4. Signs of Wear and Tear • If you have any missing, damaged, or curling shingles, this could potentially cause some major leaking! . You’ll want to check these spots for mold, which is a sure sign of heavy moisture and water damage. Additionally, you’ll want to look for rusted gutters and flashing.

  5. Check for Signs of Pests • Pests are the worst thing to happen to your roof. When you’re completing your maintenance, make sure that you also keep an eye out for any indications of unwanted guests – the earlier you catch the problem, the easier it will be to take care of it.
