Today you will be collecting another batch of work for your showcase portfolio.  You’ll collect work in each of your classes and then the last 5 minutes of the day you will report to Torch to put your work in your showcase portfolio for open house on Thursday. • Don’t forget to get your carnival tickets.  They are on sale today and tomorrow in front of the library.  The only way to earn free tickets is to buy them in advance.  You get one free ticket for every 8 that you buy.  • We are going to have a great time Thursday night.  Grab your family and your friends and come down to the school for our festival. We have lots of fun carnival games and activities planned.  Show off your work and then enjoy a slice of pizza or a snow cone or some popcorn.  You definitely must try your hand at the chicken chuck and the squirt gun duck race.   Have an animal balloon made, and then find the donate for a donut booth. And don’t forget if you signed up to help run your Torch game, make sure you know your assigned time and don’t be late!

Any 8th graders interested in purchasing a 8th grade t-shirt we have extra shirts for sale in the office for $15. • Any 8th grader interested in auditioning for the Kingsburg High School Jazz Choir for next year we have packets in the office with more information. Auditions will run from May 15th – May 31st. • Congratulations MESA students who scored well at regionals at UC Santa Barbara this weekend. Jas Sohal & Evelyn Serrano 1st place Model Eye, Celeste Bollinger 1st place “Speak Up” speech competition, MaceyHammerstrom 2nd “Speak Up”, Jessie Ries & Julie Clausen 2nd Model Eye, Kevin Henderson & Derek Radley 1st place pre-algebra team math and Katrina Gong 3rd place Mousetrap car. • Any 8th grade boy or girl interested in high school football. You can pick up paperwork in the office. • At this time please stand and be respectful as your room representative leads your class in the flag salute.
