How to setup netgear wifi extender 1 Make sure the extension is turned on first. On your device, locate the WPS button, and press it firmly for a while. 2 3 On the current router, press the WPS button. When the router and extension are properly set up, the LED light will turn solid green. 4 5 Repeat the process for a dual- band range extender.
