Ministry Overview • God Squad Ministry: • Started over a year ago. • Children ages Prek to 6th grade. • Brent and Shannon Watkins • Deacons assigned Brent Watkins and Gabe Bacus.
Ministry Overview • Our aim for this ministry is to simply provide opportunities: • For our children to grow closer to Jesus • To encourage and strengthen familial bonds • To provide opportunites for the community of believers (the church that meets at Woodward Park) to serve and minister to one another with key emphasis being our children.
The Foundationand the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and if fell not: for it was founded upon the rock. Matt 7:25 (ASV) These activities will focus on helping our children grow closer to Jesus by hearing and seeing the word in action. • Work and supplement the children’s educational and worship ministries • On Sunday mornings during worship have a combined childrens class for grades 3rd thru 6th. (lawn or available classroom) • Each month provide an area of Jesus ‘ life/ministry for our children and familiies to focus on. • Have monthly service projects: • Projects for 2nd thru 6th grade • Projects for Prek to 1st grade (with parents or grandparents to be involved with)
Fellowship and Fun These activities will allow opportunites for families to be together to fellowship and have fun. • Once a month a fun filled activity. • This could be a Saturday trip to the zoo, park, museum, snow day at Shaver, corn maze, and so on. • Every other the month the acitivity planned will be an inexpensive activity • Upcoming activites include a Saturday at the Discovery Center, Fresno MET (Bob the builder), Amtrak trip. • Every other month we would like to have a family hosted devo/potluck • This could be a Sunday after worship. • Would include some type of meal, short devo (songs, prayer, 5-10 min lesson, and maybe an interactive game for the children.

It is also opportunities for older saints, youth group kids, and even college age people to serve and be a apart of our children’s spiritual growth. • Daily Bible reading plans • Parents or grandparents will work with 2 or more children and be their Barnabas • Parents will either be give a daily bible reading plan and will follow up with their assigned children. • Weekly prayer time with kids • Set aside time at least once a week to pray with and for their children. • Wednesday evening tutoring during prime time or before. • Provide an hour of tutoring assistance to our children.
Involvement • Parents, grandparents, older saints, youth group. • Involvement can range from participating in monthly or weekly activites. • Hosting a monthly devo at your home. • Teaching a combined class once a month. • Chaperone and or supervise events or activites • Help plan monthly activites. • Being a Barnabas
