History-Early Years • Founded in 1987 by Tim Ansell • based in Horsham a town in West Sussex, UK with a branch located in Australia • Early work was mainly creating DOS games like Stunt Car Racer • In 1993 began working with EA Sports • Early FIFA games for DOS • Rugby World Cup (1995,2001) • Official game for the 1999 Cricket World cup • Australian Football League (1998,1999)

History • June 2000 – released Shogun: Total War • August 2001 – broke away from EA switched to Activison • August 2002 – released Medieval: Total War • won numerous awards: PC Gamer UK top game of 2002, Gamespot Best Strategy Game of 2002, Gamespy Best Strategy Game of 2002 • September 2004 – Rome: Total War hits the market • Game used for TV series Time Commanders (BBC) and Decisive Battles (History) • 2005 - Acquired by Sega • Began to released console game such as Spartan: Total Warrior, mediocre results • November 2006 – Medieval II: Total War • March 2009 – Empire: Total War • Set UK Record for first week sales nearly doubling Rome and Medieval II • Claimed number one spot on ELSPA Top 40 chart • Won British Academy of Film and Television Arts Best Strategy Game 2009 • March 15th, 2011 – Shogun 2: Total War

Money • The Creative Assembly was bought out by Sega in 2005 • Was sold for a reported 30 million dollars • Became a part of Sega Europe • At that time company had around 75 employees • Currently The Creative Assembly has around 160 employees • Parent Company Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. made $250 million in income with 4.75 billion in sales
