  3. PGES GOALS • Every child in every classroom will be taught by a highly effective teacher. • Every school in every district will be led by a highly effective principal.

  4. Why a new system now?

USED ESEA Flexibility TLE Requirements • Used for continual improvement of instruction/student achievement • Differentiate performance using at least three performance levels • Use multiple valid measures, including a significant factor of student growth • Evaluate educators on a regular basis • Provide clear, timely, and useful feedback to guide professional development • Inform personnel decisions

  11. 2013-2014 Statewide Pilot • All districts will participate in the statewide pilot • Minimum of 10% of schools in each district to participate • Within each participating school, the minimum number of teachers to participate will be • ELA: 1-2 • Math: 1-2 • ELL/SWD: 1-2 • Non-Assessed: 2-3
