  3. The Democratic party Samuel J. Tilden Party- Democratic Home state-New York Running mate- Thomas Andrews Hendricks Electoral vote- 184 States carried- 18 Popular vote- 4,288,546 Percentage- 51.0%

  4. Result Tilden won the popular but Hayes won the electoral collage. Hayes was ruled the winner. This election ended up as one of the most controversial.
