  2. Focus of my presentation • New building regulations from 1:st of January 2010 • How do they affect the design of new single family houses? • What types of systems are possible and the most cost effective?

  3. New BBR (Boverkets byggregler) from 1:a jan 2010Does this open up for solar and pellet in new houses? Solar heating can help fulfilling the limit values Classified as electrically heated house if: there is no biomass heating boiler for permanent operation that covers heating and hot water demand The energy demand shall be followed up by measurements!

  4. The simulated house A = 143 m2 Well insulated/Passive Windows Uvalue = 1.0/0.9 W/m2K Floor insulation = 30 cm Walls = 26/41cm Ceiling = 50/57cm Floor heating

  6. Exhaust HP, Pellet District heating needs HRV and maybe solar • Harder to meet the demands in Kiruna • Passive houses are close to the limit • Ordinary exhaust HP difficult in all climates.Condensing exhaust heat pumps possible

  7. SP have already made an investigation • Exhaust HP not possible without passive houses • Biofuel needs solar, HRV or passive house in Kiruna • With ground HP the houses need no improvement ENERGI&MILJÖ APRIL2009

  8. Economic evaluation (annual instalment method)

How will the house builders adapt to the new regulations? • More condensing exhaust HP and ground HP and maybe not better insulation standard. • Wood/pellets+solar+HRV reasonable economical. • In Kiruna only ground heat pumps are possible in poorly insulated houses. • Using pellet/wood/district heating requires HRV (heat recovery ventilation or passive houses). • Passive houses almost not possible in Kiruna.
