  2. WHAT IS ALGAE? Algae on hand • It’s a unicellular or multicellular organism • Algae lives in water or very wet biomes. • Algae doesn’t have leaves, roots or stems • All forms of algae has a nucleus inside a membrane • Algae comes in different colours such as brown, red, pink, golden, purple and green.

  3. How does algae function? Purple algae photosynthesis • Algae can photosynthesize. • Algae forms a habitat for many marine animals • It is one of the main sources of a food chain. • Algae grows near the surface so it can get a lot of sunlight so it can photosynthesize • Algae is an important producer of food and oxygen in the sea

  4. Where else do you find algae? Three- toed sloth with algae Algae in snow • You may find algae almost anywhere in the world. The following a few places. • bottom of pool • bottom of the ocean • alligators • Three-toed sloths • aquatic ferns • freshwater sponges • on or inside rocks • soil • Snow • And even bottles and can

  6. HOW TO GET RID OF ALGAE FROM A FISHTANK • You can get rid of algae from a fish tank in 6 easy steps • Lower nutrient levels in the water. Change the water and siphon out the slime. • Lower the light levels. Sunlight makes plants grow so it will make algae grow. • Keep direct sunlight away from the fishtank. • Use grazing snails to eat most of the algae • Use a razor blade to scrape glass tanks 6.Get algae eating fish such as cat fish and siemese fighters . • To avoid getting new algae in your tank, soak plants in 1 part bleach into 20 parts water. Dip the plant for about 2 minutes and rinse it immediately in cool running water
