  4. KCTCS Credentials Awarded by Sector in 2017-2018

  5. NationalRecognition • In 2016-17, KCTCS awarded 34,502 credentials • Ranked 8th nationwide among two-year institutions for number of credentials awarded • Kentucky’s population only ranked 26th however • Adjusting for population, Kentucky ranked 2nd after New Mexico

  7. KY FAME PROGRAM • Learn and Earn Program in Advanced Manufacturing • Employer drivenwith 158 companiesparticipating • 11 FAME chapters across the state • Students earn an Associate's degree in 5 semesters while working 24 or more hours/week • Students earn $12 -$17.50/hour plus ½ tuition

  8. New initiative with KY Skills U • Focused on the 350,000 adults without a High School diploma or GED • Students co-enroll in KY Skills U and short-term CTE classes with KCTCS • They earn a GED plus a college certificate tuition-free, which helps them jump start a path to a career

  9. STATISTICS 148% increase in KCTCS recipients since fall 2017 (over 1,500 students in spring 2019). Spring 2019 demographics: • 60.7% male • 92.3% were 18-44 • 8.8% were minority • Average scholarship was $1,570 Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship funds received by KCTCS students: $2.3 million in 2017-18 $4.5 million in 2018-19*

What is Workforce Solutions? • Addresses the full spectrum of needs faced by business and industry: • Corporate Training • Regulatory Training • Workforce Assessment Centers • Community Education • KCTCS-TRAINS • Customized training provided on-site • General Assembly provides a $4 million yearly appropriation • Statewide Results • Over 5,000 Kentucky companies served annually KCTCS is Kentucky's primary provider of workforce education.

  12. Support for Kentucky’s Workforce • Provide support for specific workforce initiatives in high need areas such as nursing • Fully fund the performance funding model • Increase the dual credit rate
