This document outlines the planning and implementation of Blackboard's electronic portfolio system at the University of Northern Iowa. An electronic portfolio serves as a digital collection of a learner's achievements, experiences, and goals, which can be presented to various entities including instructors and potential employers. The initiative began in 2002 and involved multiple phases of research, partnership with WebCT, and pilot programs. Key goals include documenting learning progress, providing evidence for accreditation, and aiding career planning.
