  3. If you only wanted to know how to create a custom color scheme, you would: • Click on “Powerpoint Advanced 2003” • Scroll Down to “Presentation Tips” • Click on #2 Creating a Custom Color Scheme • Watch the 2 minute video

  4. BCPS Databases • www.bcps.org • Click “students” tab • Click “Databases” to search • for print resources such as in SIRS • animated videos in BrainPop • or websites in the brand new NetTrekker (Scroll to bottom to find link for offsite passwords)

  5. NetTrekker • Filters block many sites (sometimes those you cannot understand!) • Students rely on “Google” but do not have maturity or patience to evaluate the volume of responses • This year, BCPS purchased NetTrekker—A database of websites

  6. NetTrekker • Prescreened sites, educationally sound • Screen for appropriate level—Elementary, Middle and High School Levels • Easily and legally available photos and images • “Read Aloud” Feature for any website allows for adaptability if you wanted to use an article for those students with IEP’s • English Language Learner feature can help with ESOL students

  7. Google Calendar • Can look at/book library or lab availability from where you are • Steps: • Go to www.google.com • Click on “More”, then “Calendar” • Need to set up your own account with your bcps email • Need to accept 2 invitations from me—one to share dcurriescott calendar for library, one to share DCMS Lab calendar for computer lab

  8. Booking Dates • Click on the day and time you want to book • Edit details as needed: • A meeting?--Just your name • A class you are bringing in to find examples of something? –Give your name and the research/project topic • A group of students in your club?-- Give club name and your name Make sure you save after editing details!
