    2. Coaches Role & Responsibilities To 1. Guide and Mentor Schools in the School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Process.

    3. Coaches Role & Responsibilities 2. Provide technical assistance to a PBS site. This may include: Understanding of PBS principles Provide models for Action Plans Assist team in obtaining administrative support Sharing information on implementation between sites. Knowledge of how to gather and use data in decision making Knowledge of building staff support Applying effective verbal and written communication skills Facilitating an effective meeting Assist sites with establishing leadership team and avoiding pitfalls Help teams to anticipate, plan for, and respond to administrative and team turnover Help teams create and maintain buy-in from staff Guiding teams to prioritize preventative/non-punitive behavioral approaches Helping schools identify resources Helping to identify leaders at school sites Guiding training of additional staff at school sites to broaden their behavioral support base

    4. Coaches Role & Responsibilities 3. Prompt initiation/completion of SWPBS activities Including awareness of grant requirements.

    5. Coaches Role & Responsibilities 4. Help with data collection and quarterly report analysis

    6. Coaches Role & Responsibilities 5. Maintain regular contact with University coordinator Refer questions that you or a team member have to the regional coordinator. Refer any problems to the regional coordinator. Share successes of teams with other school teams, coaches and the regional coordinators.

    7. Coaches’ Role & Responsibilities The PRIMARY function of the coach is to: Guide and Mentor NOT: Complete all SWPBS tasks for the district & sites

    8. ?Coach = Behavior Specialist? Maybe…. The Primary function of the coach is to MENTOR and GUIDE the SWPBS process Depending on the coach and district – that may include assistance with behavior issues, but it is not meant to be their primary function at the beginning of implementing the SWPBS process.

Guide and Mentor 12.Keep communication flowing through the sites 13. Assist getting all staff on board 14. Sharing ideas 15. Getting everyone working together 16.Someone you can trust 17. Keeping team on track 18. Communicating information from University coordinators
