  9. Union representatives • Unions are organized with union representatives on most levels • F ex at the University of Oslo with 7000 employees, they have 8 fully paid representatives. • The system is based on trust between the parties

  11. Central negotiations • Collective agreement covers everybody hired in the branch • Negotiations every (second) year

  12. Minimum wage? • Norway has no official minimum wage • Minimum wages are negociated in each branch

  13. If we don’t agree? • The mediation institution steps in • Mediation for about 3 weeks • When no solution is found: conflict (strike/lock-out) • Strike is highly regulated
