Target Audiences: • Students: • Not yet confident or skilled in proofreading • Working in subjects where focus is not writing • Teachers: • Way to address writing issues without using class time • Not necessary to be subject expert in 2nd field
BEACH build-out: • Housed in Angel: • Presentation in HTML to links in Angel • Goal is seamless integration for easy student usability • Teachers: • Will either link or copy into Angel shell • Also have email auto-response when student passes • Automatically graded

Rollout Schedule: Summer: Build Review section Test with Math tutors/Basic Writing students for clarity Fall: Rollout to student population on Gibbs campus Test ease of use with volunteer faculty
Goals: • Students: • 200 students to use system by end Fall • 70-75% on final proofreading practice • or 10% improvement over original score • Teachers: • 3-5 to adopt and use Fall semester • 10% improvement over original score for their students
Testing Methodology: • Students: • Volunteer study - monthly drawing with multiple prizes over Fall semester • Student can enter into drawing for every lesson completed • Auto entry and record of scores through Angel • Teachers: • Interview before and after semester on ease of use and changes in student writing
Future Beaches: • Writing: • Lifeguard – online office hours through Angel to provide support and promote use of LSC • Revise– variety sentence structure, paragraph development, thesis vs. topic, build strong arguments • Reference – how to paraphrase, when to quote, what makes a good source, APA & MLA (library) • Math: • Fractions, decimals, positive and negative numbers • Common formulas and how to apply them
