  7. College Applications • Submit request to counselor at least 2 weeks prior to the due date; submit by 12/5/11 if due 1/1/12. • Include: resume, personal statement, $2 per school. • Pay attention to deadlines!!! Get a calendar!

  8. Scholarships • Check Vicke Marshall’s web page (Registrar) on Patrick Henry’s website. • Check Career Center periodically. • Listen to daily announcements. • Please inform Vicke Marshall of all scholarships awarded and amounts.

  9. Advanced Placement • AP students must take the AP exam in May • AP Fee: $43.50 due in early Spring 2012

  10. Dual Enrollment • Several AP classes have option to also be dual enrollment with VWCC. • In addition to AP fees, DE fees = $99 per semester or $132 per semester (AP Biology). • DE 1st semester fees are due Sept.19th, paid to Becky Fariss during all lunches.

  11. Upcoming Events • College Fair – September 20th from 2-4 or 6-8 - Salem Civic Center • Senior Assembly – October 26th - Skyline College, National College, ITT, Jefferson College, Miller-Motte • FAFSA – January 2012

  12. SAT / ACT • SAT: www.collegeboard.com Next test dates: Oct 1st (register by Sept 9th) Nov 5th (register by Oct 7th) • ACT: www.actstudent.org Next test dates: Oct 22nd (register by Sept 16th) Dec 10th (register by Nov 4th)

  13. Senior-itis • A tendency of seniors to slack off – watch for tardiness, absences, lower grades… • And they all can get it… • Acceptance to college and / or scholarship money can be revoked.
