  1. Environment Management Panel Boilers: Cofiring/Conversions Michael Tanca, Alstom Power Neil Raskin, Foster Wheeler North America Corp. Michael Alliston, Metso Power

  2. We are here to day to discuss potential cofiring of various fuels within and conversion of your CFB boilers. Why are we having this discussion?

  3. Because you want to remain a viable business.

  4. To do this your CFB boilers must operate efficiently and economically while firing fuels that are competitively priced and produce the lowest levels of NOx, SOx, CO, Particulate, and Metals (Mercury, Arsenic, etc.) emitted from your stack and in your ash.

  5. CFB’s are inherently designed to burn a wide range of fuels, usually classified as “waste fuels” in an environmentally friendly manner. These are the fuels no one else wants to burn or cannot burn.

  6. CFB’s can also cofire or independently burn “good fuels” economically and in an environmentally friendly manner.

  7. What are “good fuels”? • Biomass – classified renewable and economical • Natural Gas – environmentally acceptable and presently very economical.

  8. We now invite all conference attendees to participate in this discuss. Who would like to begin the discussion?
