  2. Facts • An moose is the largest species of the deer family. • In Europe they are more commonly known as Elk. • Moose were successfully introduced in Newfoundland in 1904.

  4. Types • There are six types of moose, they include:

  5. Location • North America, moose can be found in almost all of Canada and most of Alaska. • In Europe, they are found in large numbers throughout Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States.

  6. Yummy! • All moose are herbivores. • In order for a moose to maintain it’s body weight it must eat 9,770 calories (50-60 pounds) a day.

  7. Size • On average, an adult moose stands 6–7 ft. • Males weigh 850–1580 pounds • Females weigh 600–800  pounds.
