  3. Searching the BIBFRAME Database • Unit 3 in the BIBFRAME Manual • Searching directly in the BIBFRAME Database is much more robust than searching in the Editor because there are more search options: • Everything (keyword) • Title • Author/Creator • Subject • In addition, more data is displayed in a BIBFRAME Database search result

  8. Searching the BIBFRAME Database: Results

  9. Searching the BIBFRAME Database: Results • Searching the BIBFRAME Database is the ideal way to determine if a description exists for a resource you have in hand • But search results can be erratic at times – remember that work is constantly being done to refine the BIBFRAME Database, so what you see one day may not be the same thing you see another day • Stability is much better now than in the past • Refinements are ongoing • Participant feed-back is essential

  10. BIBFRAME Pilot Training Session Three One more demonstration!

  11. Searching the BIBFRAME Database: Demonstration Searches • Linked data for cultural heritage (LCCN 2016010125)

  13. Individual Exercise: Importing a description from the BIBFRAME Database for editing • Unit 6 and Unit 8 in the BIBFRAME Manual • Work on your own

  14. Individual Exercise: Review and Wrap-Up • Problem areas? • Questions? • Interested in more complicated bibliographic resources? • Introduction to Non-Latin Scripts in BIBFRAME (Unit 11 in the BIBFRAME Manual) • Introduction to ID.LOC.GOV (Unit 4 in the BIBFRAME Manual)

  15. What’s Next? • Consult the BIBFRAME Manual • Look at the Confluence site • Work with your colleagues who are already in the BIBFRAME Pilot • Attend the BIBFRAME divisional meetings • Attend the All-Participant meetings • Ask questions • Special format sessions
