  1. Pollution Problems • People in New York are more susceptible to asthma • People living in large amounts of pollution have increased chances of respiratory system problems

  2. Economic Status • Still wobbly • Regained jobs • New businesses started

  3. Where Most People Live • Big cities • Lots of business • Better chance of a new job • Central place for large firms • Suburbs near large cities • Easy commute without all of the problems of city life • Less noise • Less traffic • Safer for kids and pets • friendlier neighborhoods

  4. Transportations • Highways • Major airports (people and products) • New York City • Boston • Philadelphia • Atlantic ocean • Near harbors • Coast • Products transported by boat • If any of these ways of transportations were lost, there could be a major shortage of transportation and a lot of economic damage.

  5. Tourist Attractions • Witch Museum- Salem, Massachusetts • Shows historical artifacts from the time of the Salem witch trails • Cape Cod • Beaches • Small picturesque towns • Statue of liberty • large green statue of lady holding a torch and a book • Associated with immigrants from Elis Island • Was a gift from France • Empire State Building • Lets you look over the entire city • Broadway • Major plays and productions take place here- “Broadway Musical”

Economic Impact • If New York City alone disappeared 18,897,109 people would vanish • Add Philadelphia and Boston and the total comes to 29,414,854 people • Imagine the economical impact if this many people, about 1/10 of America’s population, would be gone • New England has a surprising amount of economical impact
