  2. Join us for the first Virginia Tech Education Abroad Course in Nepal! See local farming systems and community based natural resource management in the Himalayan Mountains, and learn how they are linked to health, soil conservation, wildlife management, and Nepal's long-term environmental sustainability. Lectures will be given by local experts from Nepal's Institute of Forestry, field exercises will be led by specialists working with nongovernmental organizations, and briefings on current programs in Nepal will be provided by Government of Nepal officials responsible for the management and conservation of Nepal's resources. Join us for this three week excursion to the top of the world! Space is limited to 20 students. All students will register for 3-6 VT credits (register for NR 3954 or CSE 3854 during the fall semester). Course format will include a weekly class during the semester in Blacksburg followed by a three week field-based course in Nepal during Winter Break. The program cost for instruction, room and board, travel expenses, and some meals is estimated to be $3,800. This does not include your tuition, fees, and personal costs. Graduate credit is available.
