A 38-year-old female driver on Rt. 35, driving on I-684 South at 70mph, turned in the vehicle to tend to her children (ages 1 and 3), causing a rollover accident. The driver sustained a severe injury to her left elbow, the children had minor injuries, and initial care was provided by a witness. Emergency services including Katonah FD and NYSP were on the scene.

MVA Rollover I 684 SB by Rt. 35 38 YOF turned around in vehicle while driving south on I684 @ (per Pt.) 70mph to care for children. Pt. sts. lost control, hit guardrail and flipped multiple times. 2 children ages 1 and 3 in child seats with minor injuries. Driver’s L elbow shaved to bone when driver’s window blew out and vehicle scraped on roadway. Slight dislocation to L elbow with – fx. on x-ray at WMC. Driver’s side door jammed. Pt. extricated collar board via passenger side. 45M2, 45M3, Katonah FD, NYSP on location as well. Initial care by RN witness who applied tourniquet proximal to L elbow PTA.
