  2. Demographics • Current Enrollment is 590 • October 1 Enrollment was 601 • October 1 Enrollment for 2016-2017 was 573 • 31.5% of students are ESL • 13.5% of students are SPED • 90% of students are reading at a Lexile Level below proficiency (22% basic, 68% below basic)

  3. Reading Across the Curriculum • Orton-Gillingham Approach to Reading Instruction Training (OG) for all English, English Language Development (ELD) and Resource Teachers – January 8, 2017, 10 teachers • Planning sessions for including OG strategies in English instruction – spring 2018 • NewsELA Pro instructional content platform training for all content area teachers – spring 2018 • myON digital reading platform training for all content area teachers – spring 2018

Reading Across the Curriculum • Continue book study on Making Content Comprehensible for English Learners: The SIOP Model – bi-weekly PLCs all year • Conduct professional development on ways to coordinate OG strategies, SIOP features, NewsELA, myON in all content areas – summer 2018 • Planning sessions on specific ways to include reading strategies in all content areas – year 2, semester 1 • Implement reading strategies in all content areas – year 2, semester 2

  5. Reading Across the Curriculum Expected Outcomes • Increase in reading practice in all content areas • Lexile growth • Increase in the number of students scoring ready/exceeding on ACT Assessments in all content areas

School Culture • Response to Intervention Training (RTI) for all certified staff – spring 2018 • Odysseyware training for – spring 2018 • Planning sessions on ways to implement tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 behavior interventions – spring 2018 • Planning for individualized, engaging instruction using Odysseyware, NewsELA, etc. – spring 2018 • Incentives for teachers who miss the least number of sick/personal days each month – fall 2017, spring 2018

  7. School Culture • Planning sessions to form a school-wide behavior plan – spring 2018 • Conduct professional development to share the school-wide plan with the staff – summer 2018 • Implement the school-wide plan – year 2
