8. The town of Zeugma was wealthy and housed a Roman garrison. In the wealthy villas these beautiful mosaics were rescued from the flood waters of the Biracik dam. They tell us a lot about the lifestyle of this town. It was located on the Euphrates river so it traded and had abundant water for agriculture.
