  2. 1. Overview • Overview • The LDK-RSG (LDK-Remote Services Gateway) is a remote gateway that provides • a fully transparent connection to the host LDK system over a broadband xDSL or • Cable modem provided by an ISP (Internet Service Provider). • The broadband connection employs the system’s VOIB channels to communicate • with the LDK-RSG. • The LDK-RSG transparently extends the host LDK system services and resources • to users with DKTU and SLT interface over the broadband IP network. 1/16

  6. 5. LED Description & Dip Switch Function • LED Description The following LEDs provide visual representation of the LDK-RSG activities and status in normal state. 5/16

  7. 5. LED Description & Dip Switch Function • Mode Switch Function 1. The “MODE” switch has four (4) contact positions. 2. It is used to control several options of LDK-RSG only when it is under WAN DISCONNECTED mode. 6/16

  8. 6. Interface • WAN Interface The WAN connection is used for the communication with the LDK System and other network devices from the local network. • WAN Interface Type • 1. ADSL • -. PPPoE : User name and Password are required • for authentication • 2. Static IP (Fixed IP) • 3. Dynamic IP(Automatic IP Assignment) xDSL or Cable Modem WAN 7/16

  9. 6. Interface • LAN Interface The LAN connections are used for communicating with a PC connected to the LAN port of RSG. • LAN Interface 1. PC or HUB can be connected. 2. Local private network can be configured. 3. DHCP server is supported. 4. Port forwarding allows WAN to access the internal private LAN. 5. RSG’s LAN default IP Address; 10.10.50.50 LAN PC or HUB 8/16

  10. 6. Interface • TIA/EIA-232 (RS-232) Connection • LDK-RSG can be managed by RS-232C connection . • 1. 38400bps, 8 bits, no parity, and one stop bit. • 2. No hardware flow control signals. • 3. Only three wires are needed (TD, RD, and SG) Pin Assignment of RS-232C 9/16

  11. 6. Interface • CO/SLT/DKTU For the most of Call features, stations and co lines on RSG is same as local devices. • 1. CO • -. Analog CO line from public exchange is connected. • -. In case of the LDK-RSG power failure, • the external SLT port is directly connected • to PSTN • 2.SLT • -. Single Line Telephone or Fax Machine • can be connected. • 3. DKTU • -. DKTU is connected. PSTN 10/16

  12. 6. Interface • External BGM • 1. The BGM jack is used to connect to an external music source. • 2. The RSG has one internal and one external MOH source. • 3. RSG can use its local MOH source in the RSG. • Alarm • 1. When Alarm Signal is detected from RSG, • the LDK system gives the Alarm Ring to • the Alarm assign station in PGM 385. • 2. The alarm will be stopped by Alarm Reset code. • External Relay1/2 • 1. Two dry relay contacts are provided. • 2. They can be used for LBC or Door Open. 11/16

  13. 7. RSG Administration • RSG Administration WEB & Serial(RS-232C) Administration are supported. • WEB Administration • Serial Administration IP Address for WEB Admin Access : 10.10.50.59 12/16

  14. 8. Installation Procedure • RSG or Installation Procedure on MPB 1. Enter the VOIB Slot to be used for RSG in PGM 380 2.Enter the RSG No. in PGM 381 3.Enter the VOIB slot # on STA/COL Board in PGM 103/BTN 1 & 2. (If several VOIBs are used for RSG, enter the 1st VOIB slot # in PGM 380) 4. Reset the system for board configuration 5. Enter the MAC address of RSG in PGM 383 6. Enter the IP Address and Gateway of VOIB in PGM 340. 7.Reset the RSG ** If the RSG number is changed, reset the system for board reconfiguration 13/16

  15. 8. Installation Procedure • RSG Setting Procedure on RSG(Fixed IP) 1. baud rate : 38400 2. Set Master’s IP Address (VOIB IP Address) : 1) Press ‘Enter’ Key, the ‘main:>’ shows up after menu list 2) Type ‘system’ and enter. 3) Type ‘set master xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx’. The ‘xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.’ is IP address. Ex) main:/system> set master xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 4) Return to ‘main:>’ mode by typing ‘..’ and entering twice. 3. Set the WAN and get information (When setting Fixed IP Address of RSG IP Address) 1) At ‘main:>’, type ‘wan’ and confirm to display the help menu. 2) At ‘main:/wan’, type ‘wanset’ and it displays the help menu and the current value of mode. 3) As the help menu says, input the value of IP address, Gateway address and Subnet Mask. Ex) main:/wan/wanset> set ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Ex) main:/wan/wanset> set gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Ex) main:/wan/wanset> set subnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 4) If you want to verify the changed value, please type ‘get all’. 5) The mode of wan has to be FIXED. Verify the mode by typing ‘mode’ or ‘get all’. Ex) main:/wan/wanset> get all 14/16

  16. 8. Installation Procedure • RSG Setting Procedure on RSG(ADSL PPPoE) 4. Set the PPPoE and get information (When setting Dynamic IP address) 1) Change the mode of WAN from FIXED into DYNAMIC by typing ‘mode’ at ‘main:/wan/wanset’. Ex) main:/wan/wanset> mode 2) Change the mode of PPPoE from INACTIVE into ACTIVE by typing ‘mode’ at ‘main:/wan/pppoe’. Ex) main:/wan/pppoe> mode 3) As the help menu says, type the value of ID and password. Ex) main:/wan/pppoe> set user xxxxx Ex) main:/wan/pppoe> set passwd xxxxx 4) If you want to verify the changed value, please type ‘get all’. 5) The ID and password are dedicated value by ADSL provider. 15/16
