Voice Acting By:Steven Smith
Thesis Statement Voice acting is a creative and rewarding career to pursue as seen in the opportunities for voice actors versus traditional actors, the salary and its benefits of becoming a famous voice actor, various examples of famous voice actors, and the extensive education and training required which is well worth it in the end.
Voice acting vs. Acting • One may be wondering; "what is voice acting?" • well voice acting is basically what you hear in shows like family guy, or video games like, the all over-praised call of duty franchise,y’know, RAMIREZ!!! You may be asking “is this different from normal acting in movies?” in a sense; yes. For you don’t have to sit in front of a camera or have picture perfect looks. All you have to do is act using your voice.
Salaries • Salaries for voice actors vary depending on your notoriety • The salary for average voice actors is normally about 47,000 dollars a year. Though if you’re a highly recognized voice actor, you probably get paid more
Specific Voice actors (good) • Thereare a couple great voice actors that are quite famous • they are normally called in whenever a new game or something comes out. Especially if you are someone like Johnny Yong Bosch(most known for his role as Ichigo Kurosaki and Lelouch Vi Britannia and Izaya Orihara) , Yuri Lowenthal(well known for his role as Sasuke Uchiha and Suzaku Kururugi), Crispin Freeman(known for his role as Itachi Uchiha and Shizuo Heiwajima), and Laura Bailey(know for her role as Maka Albarn and Cloud of Darkness) There are plenty more to name, these four people and their roles aren’t even scratching the surface of what they’ve done
Specific Voice actors (bad) • Along with good voice actors, there are also bad voice actors. • It is highly recommended that one stay FAR..FAAAR away from the English version of Arc Rise Fantasia. The voice acting is this game is atrocious. This game has a great battle system, however it feels ruined by the extremely stale voice acting.
Education and Training • When it comes to education one doesn’t really have to go to college to be a voice actor or anything, though it is recommended that you do. • If one does not really know anyone in the business then it is HIGHLY recommended . Plus one could get some helpful tips and a little bit more experience before he or she tries go out the and try to audition for a role for a character from an anime , cartoon , or video game.
