  5. Background to the Internship Programme • 55% of internship providers are Oxford alumni • Very popular with students (2,400+ applications from 1,000 students in 2013) • Growing fast

  6. Where are the internships?

  7. Employers provide: • Full-time work for 4-12 weeks (June – October) • Defined project • Assigned supervisor or mentor • Stipend (meeting Minimum Wage requirements in UK) • Assistance with travel and/or accommodation

  8. Who funds the internships? • Internship Sponsors • Stipend; accommodation; expenses • Internship Scholarships • Some funding is already attached to placements • Students themselves
