Highlights from 2012 • Season ran fairly smoothly • VSL issued schedule on or near when promised • Match Cancellation Policy had desired effect • Competition committees again established balanced brackets • Memorial Day Jamboree didn’t pan out • Late Season mid-weeks games were problematic • Referee Coverage left a lot to be desired
The Year Ahead • Jamboree will be league play on Memorial Day weekend at the Tree Farm. All D2 and D3 teams will have 2 matches scheduled • 6 weekends available between May 4th/5th and June 15th (Nordic Cup) including Memorial Day – June 29th and 30th are available for league play and VSL encourages clubs to use that weekend for matches
2013 Spring Match DatesDivision 2 & 3 U12 Girls(D1 U11 Girls)
2013 Spring Match DatesDivision 2 & 3 U12 Boys and U14 Girls and Boys

Divisional Rules Recap • Division 3 • All Clubs can submit application • Recommend choosing Div 3 if team is just formed based on sign ups or winter training places them as developing, and they are primarily the 1st year of the age bracket • Recommend at least 1 training session per week • Develop brackets based on geography • Roster Size –recommendations • Club Players – YES as outlined • Dual Rostering – a maximum number is set for D1/2 players to be dual-rostered on a D3 Team
Divisional Rules Recap • ROSTER AND PLAYER PASSES • THEY ARE REQUIRED! No exceptions. • U8 ask the opposing coach to check each teams roster – prepare them for the next level AND to make sure they are registered with VSA so that all the available insurance coverage is in place • SCHEDULE • All Schedules are final – only permissible reschedule is due to State Cup Finals • Cancellation Policy
VSL – VSA Merger Objectives Behind Possible Merger: • Eliminate redundancy of administration. • The goal is to have full-time rather than volunteer staff available to help organize and manage the league. Considerations are costs for professionals and board representation for clubs. • Similar team and player registration process, entry and rosters go to one location. • Improved recruitment/training/supply of referees. • Economy of running the combined programs. Process: • Currently nothing in the Bylaws allow this to happen. Goal is to draft revisions and ask clubs to vote via e-mail on Bylaw change. This Season: Nothing will change, the idea is to have this in place for the 2014 season
