Background • Action Programme on information services, advice and guidance for adult education and training projects started in 2008 • Fundedby ESF, administeredbyThe State Provincial Office of Southern Finland, coordinated by JAMK University of Applied Sciences (w/ the Labour Institution) in Jyväskylä, Finland • The wholebudget of the DevelopmentProgram is 26,1 Milj.€ (includingall of the projects) • notavailableafter 2013-> uniqueopportunity!

Background • The Development program consists of four national projects (Guidance and counselling services for adults – national coordination project, two educational projects and one project to develop e-services for guidance and counselling) and 25-30 regional “Learning door” (Opinovi) -projects. • All have the same goal; give more and better career guidance and counselling for adults. • Aim for holistic regional strategies where guidance and councelling is seen as an important part of regional development in means of providing enough skilled labour.

  4. E-services for guidance and councelling, model for the 2010´s ”Heavy-duty service pack”; cross-sectoral co-operation 10% ”Service pack lite” 20-30% ”Self-service”; simple to use e-services 60-70% of adult population

  5. National educational projects: Changing vocational qualifications • What are the vocational qualifications of a good Lumberjack? • In the 1980´s? • In the 2010´s? What are the vocational qualifications of a good careers councellor? From Monty Python´s ”Lumberjack song”

Regional level: Is it worth it? • Regional adult education & adult guidance and councelling strategies are crucial in securing the regional supply of skilled labour • Regional cross-sectoral networks have participants from educational institutes, employment offices, enterprises, labour unions, third sector NGO´s etc. • Regional best practices for different regional needs
