Become a Virtual Ventures Volunteer or Sci-Fi CIT Today!

Join us at Virtual Ventures as a volunteer or Counselor-in-Training (CIT) for an exciting summer! To volunteer, you must be at least 14 years old and have prior experience as a camper. As a CIT, you get hands-on leadership experience while working with campers. Our application process includes submitting a resume and attending an interview, with most applicants getting accepted! Training includes an overview of camper interactions, curriculum, and ongoing evaluations to ensure quality. Join our community, enjoy socials, and build vital skills for future opportunities!

  2. Requirement • To become a Virtual Ventures Volunteer you must: • have been a camper • be at least 14 years of age To become a Sci-Fi CIT you must: Put Sci-Fi Logo Here

  3. Application Process • The Virtual Ventures Application Process includes: • submitting a resume • attending an interview Put Sci-Fi Logo Here Most people who fulfill the requirements and submit an application, are accepted.

  4. Training • We have one general training day where we cover: • how to deal with campers • overview of curriculum Put Sci-Fi Logo Here We do some more specialized workshops throughout the summer.

  5. Evaluation An important aspect of our volunteer program is evaluations. This past year we had instructors do evaluations. This year we will likely make some changes and have directors do more. Put Sci-Fi Logo Here

  6. Databases (are your friends ) To keep track of all your volunteers, and all their information, it is very helpful to make a database. Some useful information to include are: Name (first and last), address, phone number, email and schedule

  7. Volunteer Socials Volunteers are giving up their time to help us out for free, so it is important to show your appreciation. • Some things we’ve tried are: • organizing movie nights • allowing use of the VV computer lab for gaming • Volunteer parties

  8. Vol Com Why have a Vol Committee? • Ownership • feedback Volunteers are the recruits for future VV employment. If they feel like part of the team as vols, they have less to learn as staff.
