Revitalization of Calhoun's West End: Transforming Community Pride and Development

The Calhoun West End Revitalization Initiative aims to enhance local public awareness and pride, collaborating with city council and organizations to foster ownership in the community. With 57 structures assessed, the project has identified key buildings for rehabilitation and condemnation. A completed $400,000 water and sewer development is a significant achievement, alongside adding two police officers that reduced crime by approximately 30%. The initiative includes ongoing community meetings, grant applications for funding, and a long-term development plan focusing on the Mill Village and Fox Subdivision areas.
