Why RefWorks? • No need for special software • Computer independent – alwaysavailablealmostanywhere • Compatible with manydifferentresources (OVID-databases, Web of Science, bibliotek.dk, Reference Manager etc) • Easy to share references • Automatic updating • Unlimited space for PDF files, music, movies, books, etc. They are stored in a RefWorks server, so you always have access • Alumni programme • Help and support from RefWorks

  5. Import • Direct import from databases (Web of Science, CAB Abstracts, bibliotek.dk etc.) • Import via text files (e.g. PubMed) • Import from online catalogues or databases via RefWorks • Import from other reference software such as Reference Manager

  6. Output Styles Output styles are files that are used to control the appearance of references in a bibliography – there are pt. more than 3000 Output Style Manager • Here you can select the Output Styles you use frequently, so your favorites are displayed at the top Output Style Editor • Make your own Output Style from scratch • Edit an existing Output StylesYou can also ask RefWorks to create an output style for you

  7. Features • Write'n'Cite (needs installation) – is used to load references into Word (works ONLY in Word) • RefShare - Sharing references in a shared area • RefMobile - check your database and edit from your Mobile • RefGrab-it (needs installation) - finds bibliographic information on websites

  8. A reminder! Remember to search multiple databases - it's not enough just to search one! REMEMBER Always check your references - it is your responsibility to ensure that they are correct. If they are incorrect it may affect your marks in a negative direction
