Benefits of outdoor activities • Mind report (2007) advocated ‘ecotherapy’ as a clinically valid treatment option for people using mental health services • Equally Well report of the Ministerial Task Force on Health Inequalities 2008: Recommendation 29: “the Government, NHS Boards… should encourage and increase the prescription of “greenspace use” by GPs and clinical practitioners.” • Meta-analysis of 10 ‘Green Exercise’ studies found increases in self esteem and mood. Branching Out • Literature review - A review of ecotherapy as an adjunct form of treatment for those who use mental health services.
