  2. NETGEAR recently introduced its new firmware for its R8500 Nighthawk Router. It fixes the router reboot issue and DDos false detect errors while accessing multiple IP CAMs from the Internet.

How to upgrade the firmware • Please note to avoid disconnect issue during the whole download process, it is recommended by NETGEAR to perform the firmware upgrade on a computer with wired connection. • Access the router’s administration page via appropriate username and password, and make sure to save the default setting as you have to re-enter them manually after the upgrade.

  4. 3. After this go to Maintenance > Router Upgrade > Browse, select the newly unzipped .img file, hit “Upload,” and allow the device to install the firmware. Do not interrupt the upgrade process. 4. The upgrade process get completed once screen progress bar completes. If the power LED turns amber and is still blinking then power cycle the router to complete the upgrade.
