Enhancing Chesapeake Bay Ecosystems: Fish Passage and SAV Restoration Efforts

The Chesapeake Bay Habitat Goal Implementation Team, led by Leo Miranda and Jeff Horan, aims to restore and protect vital habitats. This includes significant initiatives to enhance 150,000 acres and protect 225,000 acres of wetlands by 2025, alongside improving fish passage for various species. Innovative projects like the MD pilot utilizing NEIEN streamline data collection. Upcoming meetings will define objectives further and emphasize the importance of adaptive management. Megan Hession spearheads these efforts, interfacing with scientific committees to ensure successful implementation.
