Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial root that replaces the natural tooth root. These are basically artificial tooth roots that connect to the jawbone, providing a long-term base for secure, stable and comfortable tooth replacement. One of the crucial reasons why dental implants are so popular is because of its durability and how real they look and feel.<br>

  2. A Brief Intro • A dental implant is an artificial root that replaces the natural tooth root. • These are basically artificial tooth roots that connect to the jawbone, providing a long-term base for secure, stable and comfortable tooth replacement. • One of the crucial reasons why dental implants are so popular is because of its durability and how real they look and feel. www.ankuradental.com

  3. There are basically four parts to dental implant • Cover Screw • Implant abutment interface • Implant collar and • Fixture www.ankuradental.com

  4. Types Of Implant System There are four types of Dental Implants • Endosseous or root‐form Implants – Screw or Thread type Implants – Cylindric or Press fit type Implants – Tapered Implants • Blade form Implants • Subperiosteal Implants • Transosseous Implants – Mandibular staple Implant – Transmandibulor Implants or Bosker Implant www.ankuradental.com

  5. Advantages of Single Tooth Dental Implant • High success rates • Decreased risk of caries of adjacent teeth. • Decreased risk of endodontic problems on adjacent teeth. • Psychological advantage. • Decreased abutment tooth loss. • For long lasting dental implants in Hyderabad www.ankuradental.com

  6. Success and Survival Rate of Dental Implant Survival rates of dental implants have been reported to be in excess of 90% after 15 years. Systematic reviews have also shown no significant difference in survival rates between different implant systems. However, it should be remembered that survival is not the same as success. Long-term problems can occur with dental implants, both biologically (e.g. gingival recession or inflammation) and mechanically (e.g. screw and restoration fractures), which are not represented in survival figures. Studies have shown that in the long-term implant prostheses such as overdentures or large span bridges may be prone to significant mechanical problems. A well-planned maintenance and monitoring program is essential to ensure the long-term survival and success of implant treatment. www.ankuradental.com

  7. Risk Factors involved in Dental Implant An assessment was done of all dental implant outcomes in an educational institution, the implant- and patient-based CSRs were 96.8% and 91.8%, respectively. Risk factors for implant failure using GEE analyses included implants placed in the maxillary arch as well as a strong trend toward bone augmentation areas. www.ankuradental.com
