  2. HEAT • The suns energy is responsible for heating the earths surface • Incoming solar radiation is reflected back to space

  3. Earths temperature • The earths temperature is not constantly increasing so heat must be lost and gained

  4. Maintaining temp • In order to maintain temperature the excess energy must be transferred from the earth to the atmosphere and is accomplished by evaporation and radiation.

  5. tropics • Winds and ocean currents are responsible for removing the excess heat from the tropics from the higher lattitudes

  6. Tropics • In the tropics of Capricorn and Cancer the amount of solar radiation remains relatively constant and the surface as well.
