  28. Celebrations of 2010-11 District received the Certificate of Excellence from the Association of School Business Officials International for financial reporting. The District Primary Schools of West Side and Park Side received the School of Excellence validation. The Marshall High School Speech Team earned membership into the National Forensic Leagues prestigious 100 Club.

  29. More Celebrations of 2010-11 Two school board members were recognized by the Minnesota School Boards Association for completing the Leadership Development Program. District received recognition from the National Guard for the commitment to support the families of deployed troops. District staff achieved the United Way giving goal by donating $8,000 to the United Way. This was a 4.8% increase.

  30. More Celebrations of 2010-11 Marshall Public Schools and the other 24 districts that make up the Flexible Learning Year consortium received The Humphrey School’s Public and Non-Profit Leadership Center Local Government Innovation Award. Marshall had staff member Mr. Rick Purrington named as one of ten semi-finalists for the WEM Foundation’s 2011 Outstanding Educator Award.
