  2. In the Y= menu, make GRAPH x-int: Find the graph’s zeros. CALC menu: ZERO Left Bound? (use cursor or enter a number) Right Bound? Guess (only matters if there is more than one zero) y-int: Evaluate the function at x = 0. CALC menu: VALUE Enter the number zero • Find the x and y intercepts of • using your calculator.

  3. 2. Solve the system of equations using your calculator. Calculator: graph and find intersection point(s) 1. Enter both equations into Y= 2. GRAPH 3. In the CALC menu: choose INTERSECT 4. First curve? (use up/down arrows to choose) 5. Second curve? 6. Guess? (close to desired intersection) 7. Repeat for multiple intersections.

  4. Find the equation of the line through the points (-1,2) and (4,5). 4. Find the equation of the line through (-1,2) that is perpendicular to problem 3.

  6. Even / Odd functions The test is the same for either one: replace x with (-x). Odd Functions have symmetry about the origin. Even Functions have symmetry about the y-axis. If the function is EVEN: If the function is ODD: 6. Classify as even, odd, or neither one: EVEN ODD Note: with your calculator you can simply graph and look for symmetry.

  7. Graphing Basics Compared to shifts graph vertically (+ up, - down) shifts graph horizontally (re-centers at flips graph vertically (across the x-axis) flips graph horizontally (across the y-axis)
